Bucovina (German Buchenland = Country beeches)
became the Duchy of Bukovina in Austrian Empire, is a historical region covering a territory which covers the adjacent cities Radauti, Suceava, Gura Humor, Campulung Moldovenesc, Vatra Dornei, Siret and Vicovu de Sus from Romania and Chernivtsi, Cozmeni, Zastavna, Vascauti on Ceremus, Visnita, Sadagura and Storojineţ from Ukraine.
