The Wreck from Costinesti

When we say Costineşti we are thinkig of Wreck, Obelisk and fun.
Unfortunately, the wreck, one of the symbols of this resort is from a few years in a continuous degradation reaching climax on December 21, 2012 when, due to a storm, the bridge broke its fall in, and currently the affected area is seeing only the basket dish. Because in a short time it might not be there, we are going to tell you a few things less known about it.
The ship is 131.4 meters long, 17.4 meters wide and 10.2 meters high, a displacement of 7,355 tons and was a refrigerated cargo ship belonging Arisotel famous Onassis.
The ship was intentionally "failed" in the north of Costinesti in 1968 through an agreement between Onasiss captain as the ship had expired two years the right of navigation and to ensure the desired collection.
As an interesting fact, the ship was built at the same shipyard where the Titanic was built.
The Wreck of Costineşti is built in 1942 for freight and water launched under the name of "Empire Strength" (7355 tons). First owner: Blue Star Line Ltd, London.
Failure: The ship came to shore cruise for a few miles on the same course (orientation) that has now that wreck. It was called by radio and visual repeatedly with no response. Ship failed drive with the headway made and rudder zero. Weather and visibility was good, the sea was agitated, the only problem being that it happened at night. On shore there were lights localities Mangalia, 2 Mai and Vama Veche and the place is at some distance from the route of the Bosphorus. Conclusion: the failure of the ship was done deliberately.
