Barsana Monastery

Barsana is in Maramures county and it is one of the most big village of the county. It is placed on the 
right waterside of Iza River, at 20 kilometers near Sightu Marmatiei. Because of its monastery and the church included in UNESCO, the village is perfect for a visit. Here are coming turists from all around the world. 
Barsana was first mentioned in 1326, year when the king Carol Robert de Anjou accepts Stanislau as head of this land. Stanislau was also known as Barsan's son. 
Barsana monastery is one of the most important landmark  in this area. It is first mentioned in 1390 and it's built 90% from wood.
