The Muddy Volcanoes


The natural reservation of "The Muddy Volcanoes" is located in
Paclele are form Buzau county, in Berca village. They were first noticed  by a french named H. Cognand in 1867.
The phenomenon of "mud volcano" is different from the actual volcano eruption products, shapes and sizes. The mud volcanoes are formed by the eruption of gas, seismic movements or post-volcanic emanations. In the Buzau county, these landforms were formed due to gas fumes folded and faulted zones that bring mud.
